Freelance animator and all that jazz
I've been thinking, which can dangerous, about starting a patreon.

The past 3 years I've been working on freelance contracts for various studios, youtube channels, networks and clients to help pay the bills and it's going ok, there have been a
few rough spots, but all in all its been ok.

The only bad thing about this freelance work is that I do not have time to work on my own stuff anymore, which sucks. As doing constant work for other peeps can drain ones
creative spirit. After finally getting inspired to join Walking City, my creative energy has returned, and it feels pretty good.

I've been checking out Patreon for the past month or so, and each time it peaks my interest more and more. If you don't know what the site is, it's basically Kickstarter with a twist.
Basically you set up your page and people can choose to donate money to your creations/work either each month, or each time you finish something. In terms of animation content
creators, this can be a real boon as youtube has basically screwed animators over with their new payment and view model. I get roughly between $100-$150 a month from my youtube channel which is no
were near the costs i need to cover for living expenses , hence why i haven't made anything for it in quite a while.

I'd love to be able to start an animation series with Shrike and the crew, to be able to pay voice actors, musicians for their hard work, do constant livestreaming to animate and draw things for other people, as they've been qutie fun the past week or so I've been doing them.

Now, this has been nagging me in the back of my head ever since I've been thinking of starting this; what gives me the right to expect money from people to do what I want to do? Will I even get enough to be able to do such a thing? It's a very touchy subject, as is usually everything that involves money. Also, having your income come from your fans feels a bit 'beggy' to me, as I'd rather have big companies who can afford to pay me to work on my own stuff, do so.

These are just my own thoughts on the matter, and I'd love to hear what you guys have to say on it a well.

Thanks for reading!
