Hi. This tutorial has been very helpful so far. The only problem I'm having is when I do that line art method with my drawings, the lines come out looking strange. Some of them are perfect, but others are way too big or still others are so small they're just not there. How does the path figure that if my lines are all the same size before I do that?

It's awesome, but useless for people without photoshop, or art editing programs on their computer.

Oh, you know I found the line-art bit to be very helpful, I'm still learning photoshop and I was using the threshold tool to try to get a solid line-art and it didn't turn out so well sometimes. Thanks for this!
BLACK-GEAR Featured By Owner Dec 12, 2010

Just as a matter of interest, what do you use to draw traditional pics if you're going to colour them in a computer program? Pencil, pen, ink or is it something else entirely? Whenever I scan things (I use mechanical pencil) they always come out looking fuzzy, but here your lines look really smooth and sharp.

I've been using your tutorial for a while now actually! AND YES. You have improved the quality of my digital art!

I seem to encounter the same problem time and time again though. My line arts never come as clean and solid as your tutorial and often have awkward breaks where I had inked just fine by hand. Do you have a remedy?
Zeurel Featured By Owner Oct 16, 2009  Professional Filmographer
I haven't used PS for lining in YEARS

i'd say teh best way would be to make those areas, or all the line art, thicker
Avorine Featured By Owner Oct 16, 2009
I've attempted that, yet the same thing happens. Do you use flash for your lines?
Zeurel Featured By Owner Oct 16, 2009  Professional Filmographer
i do everything in flash nowadays

Perhaps I'm a little late finding this tutorial but thank you for making it! The beginning part that covers getting the line art clean is really helping me out! (especially when I made the steps into an action on photoshop. Presto-chango clean lineart at the push of a button).
Using the stroke effect to find specks is really innovative and the first time I'd come across it in a tutorial.
Thanks again. :)
